It was a great night of boxing action at the Cache Creek Casino Resort in Brooks, CA! In the main event Alan Sanchez (20-3-1, 10 KO’s) of Fairfield, CA won a unanimous decision over a game Ramses Agaton (20-7-3, 10 KO’s) of Mexico.
There was a new GBO light-heavyweight champion that was crowned when Jose Hernandez (19-3-1, 9KO’s) defeated Ryan “The Rhino” Bourland (14-2, 5 KO’s) by majority decision. The decision was unpopular for Bourland and his local fans. “Yeah I’m disappointed. I heard something about a rematch, so I hope that goes through”, Bourland told TheBoxingBar.com. “Thank you to everyone for the support. I love and appreciate y’all”, said Bourland about his fans. “It felt great. I feel confident it was a ‘Just’ decision”, Hernandez told us.
Blake “The Beast” McKernan defeated a tough Miguel Cubos via six-round unanimous decision. “I wanted to do something nice for those fans like get a victory”, said Cubos of San Luis Potosi, Mexico after the fight. “But I give you my word, I will come back stronger and give you that victory. I promise you that”, said the Mexican slugger.
In the only knockout victory of the night, Bruno Escalante (16-3-1, 7 KO’s) got another win over brawler, Javier Gallo. The referee waved the fight during the sixth round when he thought Gallo had enough.
In one of the best action fights of the night, Ivan Vergara (4-0) outpointed Michael Gaxiola of Modesto in a four-round unanimous decision victory. After the bout Gaxiola said, “I don’t think I performed to my level tonight, but I’m going to get back to work.”
The opening bout featured Arnold Dinong who bested Tyler Marshall via a four-round UD in his pro debut. “I was nervous but excited. There was a lot on my mind, but it was a good experience”, said Dinong who is originally from Hawaii.
